Centre of Excellence for Disability Inclusion

CEDI Korangi

Building the World’s Most Comprehensive Center of Excellence for Disability Inclusion

Independence without barriers

CEDI Korangi is NOWPDP’s flagship Center of Excellence and a proof of concept for disability inclusion at scale. It connects rehabilitation, market-driven skills training, and employer placement—from assessment to employment.

With 25M+ persons with disabilities and US$22B+ lost annually to exclusion, CEDI shifts the narrative from cost to contribution, reaching 25,000+ lives annually and offering a replicable model for nationwide inclusion.

*Based on the methodology presented in The British Council & Economist Intelligence Unit, Moving from the Margins: Mainstreaming Persons with Disabilities in Pakistan (2014). The estimate has been updated to reflect Pakistan’s current GDP.

Where the dream of an Inclusive Pakistan becomes reality.

“Across Pakistan, I have watched inclusion take root in the most moving ways. A student walking into a classroom with her head held high for the first time. A young man learning a skill that finally opens a door to independence.
Whole communities are beginning to see ability where they once saw only limitations. CEDI Korangi is where these moments are built, and built to last.
It carries a simple belief that has guided us all along: we rise when we uplift others. This is more than a center. It is proof of the Bashamool Pakistan we are becoming. To our partners, our colleagues, and the persons with disabilities who inspire us every day, thank you. Your trust is what carries us forward.”

“CEDI Korangi holds a special place in our journey at NOWPDP. It is where stronger systems, deeper partnerships, and years of patient work come together under one roof. We have built training that meets the real demands of the market, so that every person who walks through our doors leaves with skills that matter and a genuine path to a livelihood.
This is not just growth on paper. It is a quiet, steady maturing of who we are and what we can sustain.
And it opens the way to reach the regions of Pakistan that have waited longest to be seen. None of it would be possible without the people who believe in this work. With that trust behind us, we move forward with real confidence.”

One connected journey

The CEDI Korangi Ecosystem

Six specialized wings work together under one roof supporting every stage from rehabilitation and learning to employment and enterprise.

Rehabilitation & Healthcare Wing
Integrated wing

Rehabilitation & Healthcare Wing

The therapeutic and diagnostic foundation of the ecosystem, combining early identification and discovery with sustained healthcare and wellness support for persons with disabilities. The wing addresses root causes and ongoing needs together, giving individuals the physical foundation required to engage with education, skilling, and employment across the rest of the center.

Vocational Schooling Wing
Integrated wing

Vocational Schooling Wing

Combines special education for children with disabilities and functional needs with foundational skills training and family support services. The wing anchors the ecosystem at its earliest and most fundamental level, ensuring children with disabilities and their families are equipped and supported long before they reach vocational or employment stages.

Information Technology Wing
Integrated wing

Information Technology Wing

Builds digital literacy and employability for persons with disabilities through structured IT training paired with career counselling and soft skills development. The wing prepares individuals not just to use technology, but to compete for it in the open job market, turning technical training into real placement outcomes.

Engineering, Textile, Production & Construction Wing
Integrated wing

Engineering, Textile, Production & Construction Wing

The most diversified wing in the center, opening engineering and construction, renewable energy, agribusiness, supply chain and logistics, and textile and fashion design to persons with disabilities. Its breadth reflects the ecosystem's ambition, exposing trainees to a wide span of industrial and emerging-sector trades so that disability-inclusive skills keep pace with where the job market is actually growing.

Microenterprise & Business Incubation Wing
Integrated wing

Microenterprise & Business Incubation Wing

Supports entrepreneurship and service-sector employment for persons with disabilities through enterprise development alongside hospitality and professional services training. The wing equips individuals to either start their own ventures or step into structured service roles, extending inclusive economic opportunity beyond formal employment into self-employment and small business ownership.

Industrial & Textile Manufacturing Wing
Integrated wing

Industrial & Textile Manufacturing Wing

A production-focused wing where persons with disabilities gain hands-on experience manufacturing textiles and wheelchairs for market. Operating as functioning commercial units rather than training simulations, the wing turns disability-inclusive skill-building directly into market-ready output and a self-sustaining revenue stream.

Success Stories

Kinza Muhammad Rafique

Physical Impairment
DIT Graduate | SQA Trainee

Meet Kinza

Kinza Muhammad Rafique, who lives with a locomotor disability, held a degree but not the confidence to use it, held back by inaccessible transport in a city not built for accessibility.

Over three months, NOWPDP’s Diploma in Information Technology program at CEDI Korangi built the confidence she now carries as she advances into Software Quality Assurance, working toward a career in IT and the financial independence it will bring.

Muntazar Mehdi

Hearing & Speech Impairment
DLIT Graduate | HBL Plaza Intern

Meet Muntazar

Muntazar Mehdi moved from Tando Allahyar to Karachi in 2022 carrying a dream of a better future, but the communication barriers he faced while pursuing his Associate Degree in Arts nearly stood in his way. Through NOWPDP, he found his first job as a Machine Operator at Yunus Textile Mills, moved into manufacturing training at Atlas Autos, and joined CEDI Korangi’s first Digital Literacy & IT batch.

Today, that training has placed him in a corporate internship at HBL Plaza, one step closer to the career he set his sights on.
