NOWPDP provides access to
Persons with disabilities need assistive devices to function on a daily basis and this is their fundamental right. For them, accessibility is imperative to increase their participation across social, economic and political life.
The impact of the lack of accessibility that persons with disabilities face, from roads and housing, to public buildings and spaces and vital urban services such as sanitation, education and transportation is massive.
Moreover, different disabilities need different assistive devices that are usually not readily available or are very expensive for most of the community.

Over the last decade, NOWPDP has been a relentless force in championing the rights of persons with disabilities, standing up for their equal access to opportunities to function and contribute as an integral part of society.

With the COVID-19 pandemic gripping the globe, Pakistan and in particular persons with disabilities suffered adversely with many losing their livelihoods and being set back in a society they already are lagging behind in.
There is hardly a way to go forward and acquire opportunities if there is no food on the table in a house.
NOWPDP Conducts Ration Drives for Persons with Disabilities
NOWPDP provides food rations to persons with disabilities and their families who are in dire need to survive and sustain themselves. This is the fundamental step after which all progress can ensue.
The United Nations Resolution passed in 2011 declared potable water and sanitation as the two basic human rights. However, the situation of Sindh is not ideal when it comes to the fresh drinking water supply. Many districts of Sindh are suffering from dire conditions concerning safe drinking water.
Moreover, unmanaged and inappropriate sanitation services have been one of the significant issues at hand for the lower tier of the district population, stirring up a hornets’ nest of lethal diseases. The situation has been even worse for persons with disabilities.
NOWPDP Built an RO Plant in Sujawal
NOWPDP has taken up the responsibility of building RO plants for residents hailing from the lower income areas in Sindh under the banner of Falah.

Primary healthcare is not catered to in many districts of Sindh at all leading to many diseases and disabilities prevalent that could be prevented with a little bit of care.
NOWPDP Opened a Clinic in Sujawal
NOWPDP has opened a clinic at Morio Markaz in Sujawal to ensure its residents hailing from one of the poorest strata of the district receive primary healthcare and hygiene.
Over 500 patients have already been treated in the Moriro Clinic.

Having a physical disability really limited my options because of the obvious problem – mobility. I finally stumbled upon NOWPDP which exclusively worked for persons with disabilities. At last, I started my training here because they addressed my problem of mobility and provided me with a wheelchair that made my commute easy. I have not only been able to build upon my skills, but I also feel at ease now in terms of getting my household chores done.
